Neuromuscular Reeducation

Neuro-muscular Re-education is an advanced form of therapy that focuses on correcting issues in the body by strengthening the body’s ability to recuperate functional activity.

We operate on the principle that the muscles are the outward expression of your nervous system. This means that your muscles function because your brain and your nerves tell them to through electro-chemical signaling processes.

Your muscles are the shock absorbers of the body. When your brain senses that force is being applied to an area of the body, it signals to the muscles to activate and absorb the energy. If they are not capable of performing this task, the energy is transferred to other tissues that are not designed to absorb it. Therefore, most injuries occur due to poor neuro-muscular control.

Using the neuro-muscular re-education process, we can locate areas of cellular disruption in the body that are causing neurological dysfunction and correct any improper signals that contribute to pain and dysfunction.

The widely accepted definition of pain was developed by the International Association for the Study of Pain.

It states: “Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience that is associated with actual or potential tissue damage.”

Simply put, pain is a signal that is sent to your brain to tell you that something is wrong. Because pain is a neurological signal, we can effectively reduce or eliminate pain by sending the proper signals and removing the cause of potential injury.

We don’t stop there though. We will also help you quickly and efficiently build muscle and stamina to improve your overall performance and increase your body’s ability to withstand further injury.

Through this process, our clients experience an improvement in sleep, nutrition, and overall mood, as well as a decrease in pain, leading to an overall increase in quality of life.
